This ancient, evidence-based Chinese healing art consists of gentle, low impact exercises which provide many benefits including lowered blood pressure, increased bone density, balance and coordination.  Instructor Tom Linden is certified by the Center for Taiji Studies.

Laptops, iPads, smart phones, smart watches, printers, tablets–learn what to consider before buying, what goes into an informed purchase and how to find evaluations and shop for bargains online

Thriving! Not Just Surviving the Holidays: Thursday, November 19 7pm
Learn top tips for avoiding overeating and over-stressing this holiday season. You’ll walk away with a game plan for eating healthier, avoiding triggers that bring that stress, engaging in self-care and reintroducing magic back into the holidays. You’ll also take home a handout of healthy holiday recipes you can feel good about enjoying.  Lisa Zimmerman of Evolve Wellness Health Coaching presents.

Virtual Tai Chi: Thursday, December 3 10am
Jim Cummings teaches the 24 movements of the Beijing Tai Chi form. Learn the fundamental movements as well as theory; improve balance, stability and overall health. Wear loose, comfortable clothing and soft-soled shoes.  (Virtual instruction, via Zoom.)

SMART Recovery Group: An anonymous support group for addiction and addictive behavior recovery that takes place every Wednesday evening from 7pm-8pm. Meetings teach SMART Recovery® for self-directed change, using scientifically-based tools and skills. Anyone age 18+ with any type of addiction is welcome.

Curbside Pickup: You can request materials through the library catalog and then, when we inform you that they’re ready, you can reserve a time slot for curbside pickup! You can also call us at any time to have materials set aside and schedule your pickup over the phone. Click here for more information.

Print From Home: You can submit print jobs through our website and arrange for contactless curbside pickup of your prints. Click here for more information.

Parking Lot Wi-Fi: The library is pleased to announce that we have expanded our WiFi access throughout the library parking lot. If you or someone you know is in need of internet access, come by anytime. There is no password, just connect to our network and agree to the wireless policy. We expect all users (whether by car, bike or on foot) to follow social distancing protocols at all times or we will be unable to continue the service. If you experience any difficulties, please contact us via email, chat or phone.

Seed Library: We’re excited to share that our Seed Library is still open! You can pick up seeds from the library by calling us us to request 2 seed packets per visit, we’ll set up a day and time for you to come pick them up and we’ll bring them out to your car.

Resume & Cover Letter Assistance: We’re pleased to offer free resume and cover letter assistance during this time! Fill out the form, attach your resume and/or cover letter and our newsletter editor will review it, proofread it and email you with any suggestions for how it can be improved. We know when this pause is over, many will be looking for work and we hope this service will help you land back on your feet!

New Digital Resource: Creativebug: We’re excited to share that you now have access to Creativebug, a collection of thousands of arts and crafts videos! You’ll find videos for fiber crafts such as knitting and crocheting (complete with downloadable pdf instructions), painting, paper crafts, jewelry, kids projects (like galaxy slime and astro origami) and so much more!
