Instructions for Contactless Curbside Pickup
You can always call the library at 631-286-0818 to reserve books and we will reserve a curbside pickup slot for you.
If you’d like to find/reserve books online and schedule a pickup, follow the instructions below:
Step 1: Use the library catalog to reserve items. Search for the item you would like and then click on the word “Request” to place a hold.
Step 2: Wait for a call from library staff to confirm that your items are in house and available for you to schedule your curbside reservation. The staff can either make the reservation for you right then on the phone, or you can use Step 3 to make the reservation online yourself.
Step 3: To make the curbside reservation yourself visit our Curbside Pickup Website to reserve a date and time to pickup your materials. You will log in using your library barcode number and library password. This is the same password you use to place holds, pay fines, use Overdrive/Libby, etc. If you are also picking up materials for another person in your household, please indicate that in the Notes to Staff area. After submitting your reservation you will receive an email confirmation (and text confirmation if you have chosen that option).
Step 4: Arrive on your date and time for your completely contactless pickup. Park in the parking spot marked with the sign for Curbside Pickup and call us. Please be wearing your face mask when the staff comes to your vehicle. Our staff, also wearing a face mask, will bring your items to your car and deliver them as specified in your reservation (delivery options are to place the items in your trunk or we will place the items on the ground outside your driver side door, step away from the vehicle, and you can then step out and grab them). Please do not get out of your vehicle and approach staff unless specifically asked to do so.
Curbside Pickup hours are Monday-Friday 10 a.m.-8 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
Our book drop is now open and items can be returned via the book drop. Do not return items to the staff coming to your car. Library of Things items cannot be put in the book drop. If you are returning a Library of Things item, please call us to make arrangements.
